The Cricket World Cup is set to commence on October 5, with a thrilling replay of the 2019 final, featuring England against New Zealand. The match will be held at the illustrious Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.
The home team, India, will open their campaign on October 8 with a challenging match against the five-time World Cup champions, Australia, in Chennai.
The 2023 tournament will feature 10 teams. Eight of these have already secured their spots via the Cricket World Cup Super League, while the remaining two will be confirmed after the conclusion of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, slated to finish on July 9.
The World Cup will follow a round-robin format, with each team playing against all nine opponents. The top four teams at the end of this phase will progress to the knockout stages and semi-finals.
Key Fixtures
One of the most awaited matches, the India-Pakistan faceoff, is scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad. Their last meeting in the 2019 World Cup witnessed a high-scoring game, with India securing a significant victory in Manchester.
October 20 will see Pakistan take on Australia in Bengaluru, followed by an England-South Africa match the next day in Mumbai.
England and Pakistan will face off in the final group stage match on November 12 in Kolkata.

Knockout Stages
The first semi-final match is scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai, with the second to follow on November 16 in Kolkata. Both these fixtures have a reserve day allocated. The grand final will be hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, with a reserve day set for November 20.
All the knockout stage matches will be day-night events, starting at 14:00 local time.
Tournament Venues
The tournament will span across 10 distinct venues: Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
In addition, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, alongside Hyderabad, will host warm-up matches from September 29 to October 3.
