Pakistan U-19 Clinch Victory Against Bangladesh In Four-day Match – Latest Breaking News

Pakistan U-19 team secured a thumping 10-wicket victory against their Bangladesh counterparts on the final day of the one-off four-day match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Wednesday. The match was affected by rain, and the hosts were dismissed for 292 in their second innings after Ali Asfand’s all-round performance and fine bowling by leg-spinner Arafat Minhas. First-innings centurion Shahzaib Khan and Azan Awais scored the required 22 runs to win the match. 

Bangladesh captain Sharear Sakib, who resumed the day at 47, smashed a fighting century of 106 runs. His innings came off 235 balls during a 330-minute stay and featured 14 boundaries. However, Ali dismissed him, and Bangladesh were left nine runs away from avoiding an innings defeat. In response to Bangladesh’s first innings score of 149, Pakistan posted a huge 420, with Ali Asfand also clean bowling Zakaria Islam Shanto earlier. 

Ali claimed back-to-back wickets of Shiam Hossain Dipu and Pervez Rahman as Bangladesh slid to 276-8. Later, Arafat Minhas clean bowled Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby and trapped Iqbal Hossain in front as Bangladesh ended their second innings at 292, giving Pakistan a scanty target.

Shahzaib Khan was named player-of-the-match for his magnificent 174-run knock. Both teams will compete in a white-ball series comprising five one-day matches and a one-off T20, which begins on May 6. 

The final scores were, Bangladesh U-19 149 in 59 overs and 292 in 125.1 overs, while Pakistan U-19 posted 420 in their first innings.
