During the fifth Twenty20 International between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Mohammad Rizwan maintained his outstanding form.
The wicket-keeper hitter finished the year with 1000 T20 runs, a goal he had already accomplished twice in his career, with an undefeated 98 against the Blackcaps.
The 30-year-old ran for a record-breaking 2036 runs in 2021 before scoring 1817 runs the following year. Along with amassing a tonne of runs for his country, he also had a dynamite season with Comilla Victorians and Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League and Bangladesh Premier League, respectively.
Mohammad Rizwan accomplished a personal milestone, but he was unable to stop New Zealand from winning the fifth T20I and tying the five-match series at 2-2.
His 98*, which assisted Pakistan in setting a 194-run mark for the visiting Blackcaps, was insufficient as Mark Chapman savaged Pakistan’s attack to the tune of 104*, while James Neesham stunned Pakistan with a quickfire 45 from 25 balls.

Mohammad Rizwan has rapidly established himself as one of the cornerstones of Pakistan’s international setup, garnering a number of ICC awards in the process.
He was also the player who ousted Babar Azam from the top spot after a protracted reign.
In the ODI that will start on April 27, Rizwan and the rest of the Pakistani team will try to get revenge on the visitors.
