Dubai South hosts Emirati Human Resources Development Council Workshop with Dubai Free Zones Council

Dubai South, the largest single-urban master development in Dubai, hosted an Emirati Human Resources Development Council Workshop in partnership with the Dubai Free Zones Council.

The workshop was designed to brief Freezone companies in Dubai South on a specially designed programme by the Emirati Human Resources Development Council to strengthen partnerships, identify employment needs, and develop tailored training and employment opportunities for Emiratis in various industries at free zones.

Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, attended the event, which took place at Dubai South HQ. The workshop included an engaging Q&A session between the attendees and speakers, where companies showed interest in contributing to the success of the Emiratisation initiative and how the Council can provide tailored support to help organisations contribute voluntarily to Emiratisation targets.

The event featured experts, including Abdulaziz Alfalahi, The Emiratisation Recruitment Superintendent at the Emirati Human Resources Development Council; Dr. Elhadi Ibrahim, Senior Advisor Dubai Free Zones Council, Maryam Al Maeeni, Director of Industry Nationalisation at Dubai Economy and Tourism; Shamma Alhemeiri, Director of National Capabilities Building Department, and registered free-zone companies at Dubai South.

During the workshop, participants highlighted the strategic role of the Emirati Human Resources Development Council in contributing to the nation’s economy by enriching the market with future-proof talents and partnering with top corporations that have chosen Dubai South Freezone as headquarters for their regional operations. This collaboration ensures that Emirati talent becomes an integral part of the nation’s economic growth and competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Emirati Human Resources Development Council, expressed his pride in hosting the event as part of their commitment to support the vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. He highlighted the importance of leveraging the skills and expertise of Emirati talent to foster meaningful partnerships between various sectors and drive progress towards the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which outlines Dubai’s strategic vision for sustainable growth.

Al Mansoori added that he was thrilled about the collaboration between the Emirati HR Development Council and the Freezones and emphasized the need to unite efforts to create a transformative impact on Emirati talent and drive the growth of the private sector.

Khalifa Al Zaffin also expressed his pleasure in hosting and supporting the programme, highlighting the importance of employing citizens in the private sector to contribute to the economic growth of Dubai. He thanked all the valued companies that attended the event and looked forward to working closely with them to achieve the objectives of this initiative and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to integrate new generations of Emiratis into the private sector through joint efforts.
