Ambassador Bernhard upbeat about revival of hockey in Pakistan

LAHORE: German Ambassador Bernhard Schlagheck, who feels closely knitted with Pakistan all due to hockey, wants the Green shirts over the top again to maintain a balance in the game between regional countries.
Schlagheck expressed these views during a meeting with Olympian Khawaja Junaid, when he visited CEO SBP Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy and Junaid Chattha Director SBP Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy on Friday.
“German and Pakistan had a great relationship from last 70 years. If you talk about sports than biggest bond between two countries are hockey,” said German Ambassador Bernhard Schlagheck.


The German Ambassador premised his great support for the hockey revival in Pakistan. “I have witnessed a glorious past of Pakistan Hockey. And I really want Pakistan Hockey on top again. Whatever help is needed from the Germany, Embassy would be pleased to give at its best. Sports is a tool to raise standards and togetherness of the society, said Schlagheck.
Olympian Khawaja Junaid paid his gratitude to the Ambassador for his two years services in Pakistan and thanked the Embassy for taking special interest for the betterment of Pakistan hockey.
