Free agent goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha says he feels ‘honoured’ to have been linked with a switch to Chelsea.

The Albania international is searching for a new club as he is leaving Lazio when his contract at the club expires at the end of June.

Strakosha has made 208 appearances over a decade-long spell with the Italian side.

The 27-year-old is reportedly being considered by Chelsea as an option if Kepa Arrizabalaga leaves the club.

Arrizabalaga has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and Lazio, who are managed by former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, have been credited with an interest in the goalkeeper.

Speaking on transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s Here We Go podcast, Strakosha said: ‘I’m really honoured to be linked with a top club like Chelsea, it’s a dream.

‘I’m dreaming of Premier League since I was a kid.’

In terms of potential incomings, Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski.

Former Blues winger Shaun Wright-Phillips thinks both of the aforementioned players would be good signings for the club.

‘Jules Kounde would be a good signing for Chelsea, he’s young and a very talented defender,’ Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino.

‘But Chelsea sold Fikayo Tomori who’s a similar age and I think he barely gave the ball away all season at AC Milan and I just wonder why you would go and buy a player of a similar age, why not just keep the talent you’ve made?

‘If Kounde does sign for Chelsea, he’ll have big boots to fill after Antonio Rudiger’s exit.

‘With Robert Lewandowski, he would be the perfect replacement for Romelu Lukaku if Lukaku does leave.

‘No matter what team he plays in, he always scores goals. Chelsea would just have to make sure they play to his strengths.’
