Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly submitted an opening offer to Sassuolo for Arsenal transfer target Gianluca Scamacca.
The Gunners require signings up front following the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Scamacca, who netted 16 Serie A goals for Sassuolo last season, is thought to be on the shortlist of the north London club.
Gazzetta dello Sport have previously claimed that Arsenal had a bid of around £35million for the striker rebuffed.
Now, Sky Italia report that Paris Saint-Germain have submitted an opening offer of £30m plus bonuses, which has been rejected by the club.
Sassuolo are said to want a fee of £43m for the 23-year-old, with negotiations between the Italian club and PSG expected to continue.
Another striker linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium is Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
The 25-year-old knows Mikel Arteta having worked with the Spanish coach during his time as assistant at the Etihad Stadium.
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes Jesus would be keen on signing for the Gunners due to three factors.
‘Manchester City want good money because he’s young, fit and he’s a Brazil international,’ Campbell told the Highbury Squad.
‘You could say he’s world-class. He starts for Brazil.
‘He’s the best pressing striker out there and that’s what Mikel Arteta needs – he’s one of the key pieces that we need.
‘Jesus can go and play Champions League football.
‘But he wants to come to Arsenal, one because he knows the manager, two because he knows the system and three, which is the most important thing, he wants to be the main man.’
