Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has informed the club that he wants to stay at Old Trafford as he believes Erik ten Hag can revive his career.
The forward suffered a hugely disappointing downturn in form last season, scoring just four times in 25 Premier League appearances.
Rashford entered the season on the back of shoulder surgery but his body language was as questionable as his performances, with the 24-year-old lacking his usual vigour.
Tottenham hold a long-term interest in Rashford, with Antonio Conte keen to sign the England international.
But United have rejected Spurs’ advances after Rashford informed the club that he wants to stay at the Theatre of Dreams.
Ten Hag has a history of meticulously working with under-performing players and he’s helped to transform the fortunes of stars such as Dusan Tadic, Sebastian Haller and Daley Blind during his time in Amsterdam.
Rashford lost his place on the left flank last season to the likes of Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho.
But he’s determined to regain his place in order to claim a spot in England’s World Cup squad for the tournament in December.
