Arsenal have been told that interest in transfer target Gianluca Scamacca is ‘growing’ and that Sassuolo have already had contact from interested parties.
Reports earlier this month claimed the Gunners have already had a bid turned down for the Italy striker, with Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming Arsenal submitted a bid of around £35million.
Scamacca netted 16 times in Serie A last season and Mikel Arteta views him as the perfect replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who is set to join Lyon when his contract expires at the end of the month.
And Giovanni Carnevali has admitted that interest in the striker is ‘growing’, though he insists nothing ‘concrete’ has been submitted yet.
‘There’s nothing concrete yet for Scamacca, just some contacts with some clubs’, he told Sky Sports.
‘Of course, after playing with the National team the interest is now growing’.
With Lacazette set to leave, Arsenal are determined to keep Eddie Nketiah.
The England U21 striker found form in the final stages of the season but he’s out of contract later this month.
