Bridgerton season two dropped on Netflix on March 25, and although fan favourites like Eloise Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington have returned, viewers have had to say goodbye to major characters like the Duke.
However, season 2 has also introduced new characters—including the Sharma family—who are sure to become as beloved as season one’s stars.
Based on the best-selling novels by Julia Quinn, the series transports us into the world of 19th-century London where the social season is in full swing and young aristocratic women make their best attempts to find a good husband.
Events are made all the more fun when the juicy gossip of the day is reported on by the mysterious Lady Whistledown in her scandalous society papers.
Naturally, the Shondaland show (the production company of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder creator Shonda Rhimes) boasts an amazing cast – including the voice of Dame Julia Andrews!
We take a look at the talented lot bringing these beloved character to life.
Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton
Jonathan has played a part in several shows including W1A, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and historical drama Leonardo.
Fans might recognize him for playing Olly Stevens in Broadchurch. Or for his roles in films such as The Mercy, Testamane of Youth and The Young Messiah.
However, Johnny has made the biggest splash in his theatre work after his performance in the 2018 revival of Company saw him earn an Olivier Award.
Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma
Simone Ashley will star as Anthony’s love interest Kate Sharma in season 2.
Simone is known for playing Olivia in Sex Education, and she’s also had roles in the TV show Broadchurch and the movie Pokémon Detective Pikachu.
Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma
Charitha Chandran is playing Edwina Sharma in the second season of Bridgerton.
Alex Rider fans will recognise her as Sabina Pleasance in the TV series.
Shelley Conn as Lady Mary Sharma
Shelley Conn plays Lady Mary Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2, but viewers may know her from TV shows like The Deceived, Liar, and The Rook, and Deep State.
The actress will also appear in the TV Series Good Omens, which will be out this year.
Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne Bridgerton
Before the first season of Bridgerton, the actress was already a familiar face to viewers all over the globe after her parts Clare in Younger and Lotti Mott in Snatch.
She first found fame as Siobhan Mailey on Waterloo Road, before bagging parts in The Village, Prisoners Wives and Dickensian.
Oh, and her mother is Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Webster.
Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton
The actress starred as Octavia Putney in Penny Dreadful and has made several appearance in Silent Witness.
Ruth has also had parts in Deep State, Homes Fired, Utopia and 2005 flick, Fever Pitch.
She also played Tracy Beaker’s mum in the Tracy Beaker franchise.
Rupert Evans as Lord Edmund Bridgerton
Rupert Evans is known for his roles in The Man in the High Castle, The Boy, and American Pastoral.
He’s also appeared in other TV series’ including Charmed, The Village, and Rogue.
Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton
The actor is a theatre star who has performed at The Globe in various productions.
He has also had appearances in shows such as In the Club and Kiss Me First while he starred in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton
Claudia is no stranger to the Regency era after starring in the 2018 adaptation of Vanity Fair.
The actress has had roles such as Jodie in Line of Duty, Lucy in Porters and WPC Annie Taylor in WPC 56.
Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton
The actor made his debut as Luke Attwood in The Cut and also made an appearance in shows like Mr Selfridge and Doctors.
Luke also starred Disney Channel’s The Lodge before playing in Syfy series Lake Placid: Legacy.
Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton
The young actress starred as Nimue in Netflix’s Cursed.
Bridgerton is her second TV role.
Will Tilston as Gregory Bridgerton
The child star played young Christopher Robin in the film, Goodbye Christopher Robin.
Bridgerton is his first TV role.
Anand Desai-Barochia as Lord Hardy
Anand Desai-Barochia is back as Lord Hardy in season 2. The actor is known for playing Janzo in The Outpost, and for his roles in the movies Foster Boy and The Tiger Hunter.
Regé-Jean Page as Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings
The actor is another star who featured on Waterloo Road, playing Guy Braxton in 2015.
He is most famous for his parts as Chicken George in 2016 mini-series Roots and Leonard Knox in Shonda Rhimes’ legal drama For The People.
Fans will also get to see him starring alongside Tesse Thompson in the film, Sylvie’s Love.
Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington
Nicola is most famous for her part as Clare Devlin in Channel 4’s hit sitcom Derry Girls.
The actress also starred as Hannah Dalton in Harlots, while she made her West End debut in 2018 in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
The Irish actress has also done a spot of voice acting too.
Polly Walker as Lady Portia Featherington
Polly is an actress familiar to many viewers after parts in other drama such Pennyworth, Cursed, Mr Selfrdge and more.
She is known for playing Gill in Line of Duty as well as featuring in the likes of Age Before Beauty, The Syndicate, Prisoners Wives and State of Play.
The actress received a Golden Globe Award nomination for her role in the drama series Rome.
Ben Miller as Lord Featherington
The actor has starred as Colonel Lancaster in Paddington 2 and Bough in Johnny English.
He’s also known for his parts as DI Richard Poole in Death in Paradise, James Lester in Primeval and The Sheriff of Nottingham in Doctor Who
Ben famously teamed up with Alexander Armstrong to perform sketch comedy in The Armstrong and Miller Show in 1997.
Harriet Cains as Philippa Featherington
Harriet played Louisa in Safe, House, Gail in Marcella and Jem Walker in In The Flesh.
She has also had appearances in Line of Duty, Vera and Hollyoaks Later.
Bessie Carter as Prudence Featherington
The actress played Bessie Carter played Violet Woodhouse in Beecham House, and Evie Wilcox in the 2017 adaptation of Howards End.
Bessie has also been seen in Les Misérables, Doc Martin, and The Good Liar.
Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury
The respected actress is famous for her work in the theatre, but she’s had just as many roles on screen as well.
She played Colette Griffiths in Casualty before going on to star in shows like Missing, Fractured and Liar to name a few.
Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte
Golda has previously starred in shows such as Silent Witness, Torchwood, Luther, Lady Macbeth and Dead Boss.
She also stars in the tenth season of Death in Paradise.
Jamie Beamish as Nigel Berbrooke
Jamie previously played Nathan in The Commuter and Ciaran in Derry Girls (like his co-star Nicola).
The actor also starred as Augustine Phillips in the TV series, Will.
Ruby Barker as Marina Thompson
Ruby starred as Daisie in the TV series Wolfblood, while she also had a part in Doctors and Cobra.
The actress has also appeared in theatre productions and independent film, How To Stop A Recurring Dream.
Freddie Stroma as Prince Friederich
Freddie found fame as Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter movies.
The actor went on to star as Ben in The Inbetweeners 2, Luke in Pitch Perfect, and also has credits in Time After Time and UnReal.

Kathryn Drysdale as Genevieve Delacroix
The actress played Natalie Wood in Benidorm, Louise in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, and Rhoda Swartz in Vanity Fair.

Julie Andrews is the voice of Lady Whistledown
Who better to be the voice of the mysterious Lady Whistledown? Dame Julie is acting icon with one of the most famous British accents in the world.
With classic films such as The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and The Princess Diaries under her belt, Dame Julie takes on a role like never before in the series.
However, this isn’t her first voice acting gig after working at the narrator in Enchanted.
Bridgerton season 2 is available to stream on Netflix from March 25.
