It doesn’t look like Ulrika Jonsson and Molly-Mae Hague will be meeting for coffee anytime soon.
Ulrika, 54, has weighed in on the former Love Islander’s comments about wealth and success, after Molly-Mae made headlines for saying she ‘works her a**e off’ and ‘we all have the same 24 hours in a day.’
Twitter users were raging after the PrettyLittleThing creative director’s appearance on the Diary of a CEO podcast, where she made ‘tone-deaf’ and ‘privileged’ comments.
The former face of Gladiators isn’t the 22-year-old’s biggest fan either, writing in her column for The Sun that she gets ‘paid money for just existing.’
In response to a YouTube video in which Molly-Mae complained that sourcing venues for her PLT events was ‘a lot of work,’ Ulrika said it was ‘worryingly insulting on many levels.’
She wrote: ‘There are a lot of incredibly hardworking young people out there. Often, these dedicated youngsters have fought hard against a tide of deprivation.
‘For many others – like Molly-Mae, who just by chance became famous as a vlogger and then went on to gain even more notoriety by appearing on Love Island courtesy of a pretty face and a love of fashion – working hard amounts fundamentally to doing “nothing”.’
Ulrika fumed: ‘These people are paid money for just existing, and it is this which troubles me.’
The Celebs Go Dating star also slammed reality stars’ use of positive affirmations and quotes about dreaming big, branding them ‘lies.’
Not holding anything back, she also admitted she was worried for the next generation who look up to people like Molly-Mae and stars like Kim Kardashian.
She said young people will think all they have to do is ‘prance and pose’ to hit the big time.
Molly-Mae has been in Mexico recently, shooting a new campaign for her tanning brand, Filter.
Prior to her trip, the influencer revealed she wasn’t ‘in shape’ for a photoshoot in her swimsuit, but she also is ‘not bothered,’ as she’s learning to embrace her ‘natural body.’
The social media star – who has a staggering 6.2million Instagram followers – was doubtful about posting content from her exotic trip ‘given everything that’s happening in the world.’
Molly-Mae asked her followers whether it was appropriate for her to continue posting as normal, or whether it was best for her to take a break from Insta.
Following a poll on her story, she decided to post regularly for those who wanted an ‘escape,’ while also using her platform to share resources to help those in Ukraine, saying she wants to ‘raise awareness.’
Molly-Mae’s reps have been contacted for comment.
