Jared Leto has gone full Jared Leto. By which, we mean he rocked up to the Morbius premiere in a dramatic leopard print coat, a low-cut mesh shirt, and huge sunnies and we love everything about it.
The House of Gucci actor, who’s starring as Dr Michael Morbius in the upcoming Marvel flick, completely stole the show at the premiere, posing up a storm on the red carpet.
Jared, 50, was clearly feeling himself as he waved to cameras and gave us a thumbs up and peace sign, before turning the attention to his co-star.
He held hands with Adria Arjona, who’s starring opposite him as Martine Bancroft, gesturing for photographers to capture her gorgeous look.
Adria, 29, stunned in a figure-hugging black number, smiling up at her co-star in an adorable snap.
The pair looked thrilled to finally celebrate the movie, which has faced delay after delay and is now set for release on March 31 in the UK and April 1 worldwide.
Jared plays Michael Morbius, a scientist suffering from a rare blood disease who attempts to cure himself using experimental treatments involving vampire bat DNA.
His attempts leave him with a form of vampirism that doesn’t give him any of the weaknesses associated with vampires, but instead with superhuman abilities and a thirst for blood.
The movie, directed by Daniel Espinosa, also stars Matt Smith, Michael Keaton, Tyrese Gibson, Adria Arjona and Jared Harris.
It’s definitely been a long time coming, with filming wrapping way back in 2019.
This isn’t Jared’s first stab at a superhero role, having played DC’s Joker in the 2016 film Suicide Squad.
Most recently, he played Paolo Gucci in House of Gucci, a role he has defended.
He told Screen International: ‘I can imagine [the reaction] because it’s a big swing. I don’t look at reviews, I don’t look at critics or read comments, but I tried my very best. Paolo is the best I can do. If you don’t like the work, that’s OK.
‘I had a blast playing it, I dug in as deep as I could. It’s also that thing of if you’re not p***ing people off then you’re doing something wrong. As an actor, if you want to put a dent in things you got to break things a bit, and not everyone’s going to understand that. So if that’s happening, then great.’
Morbius is set for release on March 31 in the UK and on April 1 worldwide.
