Legendary WWE tag team The Hardy Boyz have reunited in All Elite Wrestling.

Jeff Hardy was shockingly released by Vince McMahon’s company in December following an incident at a live event, and he made his AEW Dynamite debut on the same day he officially became a free agent.

The former world champion’s 90-day non-compete clause expired on Wednesday, and last night he joined brother Matt to send fans wild.

Coming out to the duo’s classic entrance theme – which they used in WWE throughout their time as a team – Jeff ran down the ramp to save his sibling from an attack.

Matt had promised a change after he teamed up with Andrade El Idolo and Isiah Kassidy against Sting, Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara at AEW Revolution.

He called an emergency AHFO meeting on Wednesday’s Dynamite and apologised for his recent actions, but he got voted out of the group, with Private Party going on the attack.

Andrade, The Butcher and The Blade joins in, while Allin and Sting fell to the numbers game when they tried to make the save.

The Hardy Boyz theme hit and Jeff danced his way to the ring, clearing out Matt’s attackers and hugging his brother in the ring.

The big moment comes after Jeff recently appeared to confirm he was AEW-bound before his WWE contract had officially expired, although he later tried to backtrack and insisted ‘nothing is official’.

However, he had made no secret at any point that going All Elite was a possibility, as he admitted in November – while still very much with WWE – that he had ‘visions’ of a Hardy Boyz reunion, while namedropping Tony Khan’s company.

He exclusively told Metro.co.uk at the time: ‘I totally think there is [a chance of a Hardy Boyz reunion]. That’s what’s exciting about it – just being honest, will it be in WWE or AEW?

‘I feel like there will be one more [run]. I don’t know that, but it’s like everything I’ve had visions of in wrestling, it’s always happened.’

AEW Dynamite airs Wednesday at 1am on Fite TV.
