Pete Davidson is set to play a version of himself in a new TV comedy series.

The Saturday Night Live comic, who is dating Kim Kardashian, has teamed up with the late-night sketch show’s creator Lorne Michaels for the series currently titled Bupkis.

Bupkis is described as a ‘raw, unflinching, fictionalised version’ of Pete’s real life. It will also include a mixture of grounded storytelling with absurd elements depicting an unfiltered view through Pete’s eyes.

Deadline reports the show has been compared to Larry David‘s Curb Your Enthusiasm, the iconic sitcom, in which he plays a semi-fictionalised version of himself.

According to the publication, a search is underway to cast major talent to star alongside Pete, who will also executive produce, and it’s currently being pitched to major streaming services.

Pete, 28, joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2014 at age 20, making him one of the youngest cast members in its history.

He has since become one of the programme’s most recognised stars and regularly appears alongside famous guests in skits.

Meanwhile, Pete is not set to feature in his girlfriend Kim’s upcoming Hulu series The Kardashians.

‘I have not filmed with him, and I’m not opposed to it,’ Kim told Variety. ‘It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to get away.’

Kim did, however, reveal that she will spill ‘how we met and who reached out to who and how it happened and all the details that everyone wants to know.’

‘I’m definitely open to talking and I definitely explain it,’ she enthused. ‘I think I might film something really exciting coming but it wouldn’t be for this season.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Pete’s rep for comment.

The Kardashians is due to hit Hulu and Disney+ on April 14.
