Upcoming major sports fixtures are playing havoc with the ITV schedule over the next few weeks.

Shows including Loose Women, and reportedly Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, have been forced to make way for various events.

Loose Women will only air once next week, on Monday, before it is cancelled and the Cheltenham Festival takes the slot, airing from 12:50pm each day.

The major horse racing event takes place from March 15 to Friday, March 18, with the popular panel show expected to be back in place as usual at 12:30pm from Monday March 21.

This Morning is still set to run without alteration, as usual, from 10am.

In addition to this, next weekend’s schedule is said to have been disrupted as well, with The Sun reporting that both Saturday Night Takeaway and the final of new ITV talent show Starstruck have reportedly been postponed to make way for international rugby.

Ireland is set to play Scotland from 4:45pm on March 19, before France and England take each other on at 8pm, meaning it looks like there’s no space for entertainment shows in the schedule until the following Saturday night.

This comes hot on the heels of the Dancing On Ice final apparently being delayed, due to an upcoming football match.

With the semi-final occurring this Sunday March 13, the grand finale would assumingly have been scheduled for the following week, March 20.

Nonetheless, an FA quarter-final match between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool on that date, with a kick-off time of 6pm.

This has seemingly resulted in ITV deciding to give Dancing On Ice a week off, also according to The Sun.

Paralympian Stef Reid became the latest star to exit on Sunday evening after losing out in a very close skate-off to Kye.

Judge Christopher Dean even made it clear that he would have expected both pairs to make the sem-final in any other year.

The remaining skating contestants are former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Brendan Cole, The Vamps musician Connor Ball, Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt, Olympic BMX racer Kye Whyte and professional dancer Regan Gascoigne.
