Drag Race UK fans are up in arms after one of the queens spoiled the final result for Drag Race UK Vs The World after tweeting congratulations to the winner ahead of them being revealed on the show.

Tuesday night saw Blu Hydrangea crowned the first-ever queen of the mothertucking world, after emerging victorious from lip sync battles with finalists Jujubee and then Mo Heart.

Mo was gracious in defeat both on the show and on social media, but unfortunately their congratulatory tweet was posted at 9:31pm, almost a full half hour before Blu was crowned on the BBC Three programme, and ahead of the start of the final battles.

The American drag artist wrote: ‘Congratulations to My Sister Queen of the World @BluHydrangea_ 💓💓’

Fans were then fuming at the spoiler, with one replying: ‘Okay unfollow for spoiling the show immediately.’

‘Not Mo spoiling the finale byeee,’ wrote another, accompanied by a crying meme.

‘You couldn’t wait until nighttime to tweet this??? 😭😭😭’ asked one devastated viewer.

Another fan then stepped in to defend Mo, pointing out that it was nighttime in the UK, but a fellow viewer was having none of it, responding: ‘And she tweeted it before 9.30pm….. the show finishes at 10pm with crowning the winner….’

One viewer snapped: ‘Mo really said, if you ain’t giving me the crown then the fans can’t enjoy the finale.’

However, others suggested that the release of Blu’s victory song Champion on Spotify had also accidentally revealed the winner too soon for viewers in other countries.

‘Everybody angry at Mo like Spotify didn’t leak the winner at about 2pm 😬,’ tweeted one user, with another adding: ‘The song was “accidentally” released at midnight nz time (i think) so we knew the winner like 12h ago 😭 this was posted on reddit.’

In the initial lip sync battles, Mo chose to take on Baga Chipz, with the pair tasked with performing along to Jessie J’s Domino and Mo ultimately emerging victorious.

Blu and Jujubee then took on Duran Duran’s The Reflex, with Blu shocked to defeat slick performer Jujubee.

Mo and Blu then went head to head with a lip sync to Kylie Minogue’s Supernova, which saw Blu crowned the overall winner.

In the final, the remaining four queens were also treated to video messages from some very starry friends, including Pose actor Billy Porter, supermodel Naomi Campbell and even music icon Sir Elton John.

Drag Race UK vs The World is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
