As the 94th Academy Awards draw closer, taking place later in March, a host of Hollywood’s great and good who were recognised in categories this year rubbed elbows at the annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon.
With a return to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood for this year’s ceremony along with the traditional gathering – which was cancelled last year due to Covid safety concerns – we were blessed with some dazzling fashion choices from the likes of Billie Eilish, Penélope Cruz, Andrew Garfield and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Although the traditional class photo, in which all Oscar nominees pose together, was scrapped this year, we were still able to admire the daytime high fashion looks this year’s nominated ensemble wore to the event.
We got pink, we got blue, we got pinstripes, cloud print and plenty of chic black as nominees in all different categories, from acting to directing, writing, editing and technical work, all gathered together.
Be-striped best actor nominee Andrew Garfield (let’s not forget that tantalising Strictly Come Dancing tease) provided us with a joyful moment through his reunion with tick, tick… BOOM! director Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is up for best original song for Dos Oruguitas from Encanto.
Billie Eilish was giving off her usual exquisite goth glamour vibes in a velvet blouse, net skirt and chunky platform boots while brother and co-best song nominee Finneas opted for a green and red pinstripe suit with red shirt and shoes.
Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem furthered their couple goals on the blue carpet, after both received acting nominations this year, with Javier in a smart dark suit while Penelope went for an eye-catching pink knitted mini-dress.
Best actress nominee Kristen Stewart, for Spencer, showed off some serious cuff bling with silver embellishments on the sleeves of her black cropped jacket, which she teamed with a loose satin trousers.
Fellow nominee Jessica Chastain also got the sleeve memo, with some gorgeously ruffled cuffs on her black shift dress, which also sported a discreet but plunging neckline.
Will Smith, nominated for his turn as Serena and Venus Williams’ father in King Richard, was living his best life in a baby blue checked suit and camel polo neck, while Bradley Cooper, nominated as a producer for best picture with Nightmare Alley, went for all grey with polished black boots.
Kodi Smit-McPhee was bringing a look with his bold cloud-printed jacket, which he accessorized with a pearl drop earring, giving us some delightful Tudor vibes.
His The Power of the Dog co-star Benedict Cumberbatch, who is up for best actor, opted for the classic choice of a dark navy suit, crisp white shirt and skinny tie, and Sir Kenneth Branagh, whose film Belfast is up for seven awards, went for a fitting dark green suit.
Hollywood legends Denzel Washington and Steven Spielberg were also present and correct, marking their tenth, and eighteenth and nineteenth, nominations respectively.
Ahead of the ceremony on March 27, The Power of the Dog leads the pack with 12 nominations, while Dune has 10 and West Side Story joins Belfast on seven.
Best actress nominees also include Nicole Kidman for Being the Ricardos and Olivia Colman for The Lost Daughter, while films vying for the top prize of the night include CODA, Don’t Look Up, Drive My Car and Licorice Pizza.
