Legendary burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese has revealed that she no longer wants to retire at the age of 50, as she’s ‘fitter than ever’.
The American model and dancer is reportedly the most content she’s ever been, and has no intention of slowing things down.
The brunette beauty had previously revealed that she wanted to retire once she reached 50, however, her career is going from strength-to-strength with her ongoing Glamonatrix tour.
Speaking to Love Sunday magazine, she said: ‘I feel stronger and fitter than ever, so why slow down?
‘I’m really grateful that I live in a time where audiences are receptive to older women setting an example.’
Dita, whose real name is Heather Renée Sweet, also discussed her approach to criticism as she gets older.
She admitted that criticism seems more powerful in the age of social media, adding: ‘I think everyone is subject to criticism these days because of the influence of social media.’
The star has also recently opened up about wanting to compete on Strictly Come Dancing.
The star, who was the beetroot on the Masked Dancer last year, reportedly said: ‘I would love to be on your ‘Strictly’ and I’m ready to win.’
The beauty recently competed on the French version of the show, Danse avec les Stars, but was forced to drop out due to contracting an infection.
She told Hello Magazine: ‘My favourite dances were the Latin ones, especially the Argentine tango.
‘I only had five days to prepare as when I arrived in Paris I was diagnosed with Covid and had to self-isolate.
‘That made me even more determined to do well and I received high scores.’
