Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finished filming his directorial ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, starring Ali Bhatt and now he is truly committed to the pre-production of his Netflix web series ‘Heera Mandi’.
Alia was also offered a role in the web series, but Bhansali and Bhatt opted against casting her since Alia’s presence felt more important in Bhansali’s upcoming project ‘Baiju Bawra’ than ‘Heera Mandi’.
According to speculation, Ranveer Singh has signed up for Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra and that Alia Bhatt has been chosen officially now as the female lead.
Alia also had a choice of working on both projects, but still, it appears like Bhansali and Alia share mutual appreciation and both are willing to collaborate together in the upcoming production.
The project was announced by Bhansali Production in a tweet that reads, “On this auspicious day, we are delighted to make your Diwali happier by announcing our next endeavour.”
