ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) on Sunday has decided to stop giving out jabs of the Covid-19 vaccine to children aged 12 to 15 years.
The principal body governing, implementing national COVID-19 efforts, has been decided to partially suspend the vaccination of 12 to 15-year-old children from 15 to 27 November, BOL News reported.
The NCOC also said that the decision to suspend the vaccination was taken due to the national anti-measles and rubella vaccination campaign which will continue from November 15 to 27.
On the other hand, a meeting of NCOC was held under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Planning Asad Omar in which a briefing was given on the Coronavirus situation and vaccination status of different cities.
The meeting also decided to soften SOPs in the cities which have shown excellent performance in the vaccination process.
Narwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Peshawar, Gilgit, Skardu and Islamabad are among the best performing cities with 50% and higher rates, while Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sialkot, Mianwali, Jhelum, Charsadda, Karachi and Hunza have 40% to 50% vaccination rate.
A meeting will be convened again on November 29 to review the situation.
