SUKKUR: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Saturday said distances between the PPP and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of the opposition parties against the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government, were slowly diminishing.

“There may be differences, however our goal is the same. We will not allow this government to run,” Khursheed Shah said while talking to media in Sukkur.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government had destroyed the country’s economy.

Talking about alleged differences between Pakistan Muslim League-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, the PPP leader said there was no difference between Maryam and Shehbaz, neither there were two factions in the Nawaz-league.

He said his party had had talks with several people including PDM and Jamiat Ulema e Islam-F chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and these talks would hopefully reap better results.

“Whether it is a long march or a protest, everything will be discussed in the future,” he maintained.

It is pertinent here to mention that the PDM would hold a protest on Saturday (today) at Saddar Regal Chowk area of Karachi against the government over rising inflation in the country.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman will lead the protest. Leaders and workers of other parties including PML-N will also participate in the protest, BOL News reported.

A day ago, Sindh Minister for Information and Labour Saeed Ghani had said the PPP did not want to part ways with the PDM.

“Some parties of the PDM pressurised us to resign from the assemblies, while the PPP thought that submitting resignation should be the last option,” Saeed Ghani said addressing media in Karachi. He said the PPP suggested to use vote of no confidence against the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf government, but the suggestion was not accepted, therefore his party ended association with the PDM.

This should be noted that after the Awami National Party, the PPP had also parted ways with the PDM in April as differences among the opposition parties grew.
