All Elite Wrestling star Miro is backing Jon Moxley to overcome his demons.

God’s Forsaken Champion, who replaced Mox in the World Championship Eliminator Tournament and will face Bryan Danielson in the final at AEW Full Gear, has sent a message of hope to his co-worker as he enters an inpatient alcohol treatment program and he’s looking forward to facing him when he returns.

He exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘This pay-per-view is just special. IT’s stacked, it’s unpredictable, there’s so much on the line. There’s so much happening – with Mox being out, I come in, there’s a lot of things people didn’t see happening.

‘I think, personally, this could maybe be the best pay-per-view in the past decade. It’s just that stacked. The only thing I’m gonna miss is Mox.

‘He’ll be OK, I just pray for his fast recovery because that is the most important thing, of course. Once he comes back, I’m gonna kick his ass too – so he’ll be alright.’

Moxley has been praised by the wrestling community for getting the help he needs, while Eddie Kingston – who will face CM Punk on tonight’s show – penned an emotional essay about his own mental health struggle.

”It’s the most important thing,’ Miro said of the open conversations around mental health in the business.

‘You have to be healthy in order to do anything. Whether it’s mental health or whatever the problem is, you gotta speak up because you go day to day and see these people just smiling, they’re happy, but you don’t know what’s inside them.

‘We go and rush and judge these people instead of just sit down and listen and see what is actually wrong with them, “can I help somehow?” I feel like people should listen more and talk less. Overall, that’s going to work out the best for everybody.’

For the Bulgarian star, he takes comfort in a lot of things – including his wife CJ Perry (FKA Lana), his lifelong faith, and the camaraderie he shares with people in both AEW and WWE.

‘I love my brothers in WWE, don’t get me wrong. All of these guys are my brothers. We fought with them, we went to war with them, we were in Saudi Arabia on a plane with them, we were all these things, unpleasant, with them,’ he said.

‘Together, we were locked up like a family. So, you have to love these guys – and I do love these guys. When you’re on the road, you gotta support each other. It’s gotta come through either your faith, through God, or through your boys.’

Focusing on Full Gear, Miro is looking to beat Danielson to earn him an AEW World Title match to complete his road to redemption, and he’s excited to fight him for the first time since their lone singles match on SmackDown in 2018.

‘I think it’s not that we’ve changed or grown – I think the leashes are off. That’s the biggest thing. There’s no limitations. There’s nobody to tell you what you can do, what you cannot do,’ he said.

‘This is it. I just go out there and be me, and that’s what it is. And now he can be himself, and go out there and be him. He said he’s there to feel alive, and I can tell he feels alive. I can tell how happy he is. Let’s see how happy he is at the end of Saturday night.’

Miro is hinging a lot on this match, and the hope of a world title reign as he pointed to the way God has led him to this moment.

‘I mean, God is always pushing me of course, and I wanna take care of my family. I want to be faithful to God,’ he said.

‘I don’t think God was gonna put me here just to leave me halfway there. So, unless I become on top of the world I’m going to think my mission is probably a failure.’

AEW Full Gear airs tonight at 1am on Fite TV.
