Lizzo is ready to step up to plate and be a superhero for us all – or at least nab a cameo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Rumors singer, 33, has put her role request out in the universe after responding to a fan, who was seemingly the first to confirm to her that one of her hits was used on the soundtrack for Marvel’s latest release Eternals.
The film’s track list leaked – but was not verified – in October, and revealed that Lizzo would be featuring alongside Pink Floyd and BTS, among others.
With the fan pointing out that Lizzo existed in the MCU universe as the flautist-come-rapper’s single Juice is played during the movie, the star responded: ‘SCREAMING I want my on screen cameo [sic]’, with a pleading face emoji.
Reacting to another fan’s question over what her superpower would be (because of course Lizzo would have one), the Truth Hurts performer said: ‘Ima do a PSA w Captain Steve Rogers [sic]’, and quite honestly, we could see that happening.
Not only have Captain America’s, aka Steve Rogers’, educational videos popped up in other MCU films, like Spider-Man: Homecoming, but Lizzo has previously won over Captain America actor Chris Evans through the power of social media.
The singer previously jokingly warned her fans not to ‘drink and DM’ after sliding into Chris’s messages to shoot her shot earlier this year.
However, the Marvel superhero happily responded, leading to a delightful online friendship that even took in a fake baby between the pair, which Chris admitted would make his mother ‘so happy’.
Unfortunately, Chris is now out of contract with Marvel, after making his final appearance as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
Never say never though! We’re pretty sure Lizzo could win him over.
As it debuts in cinemas, Eternals has also hit the headlines for being pulled from release in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, with The Hollywood Reporter claiming the decision was made after Disney declined to remove scenes featuring a same-sex relationship.
Star Angelina Jolie has since hit out at the ban, calling it ‘ignorant’ as she praised Marvel for refusing to cut the scenes in question.
Eternals is out now in cinemas.
