Carole Baskin is suing Netflix over footage of her that features in upcoming series Tiger King 2.

The big cat rights activist is taking action against Netflix and production company Royal Goode Productions, alleging that they have breached contract by using footage of her and her husband in Tiger King 2.

Documents acquired by Variety show that Carole and her husband Howard Baskin filed suit in Tampa, Florida on Monday.

The pair were said to be surprised to see film of them being used in the trailer for Tiger King 2, the follow-up to 2020’s iconic docu-series starring Joe Exotic.

The document reads: ‘Understanding that the Appearance Releases limited Royal Goode Productions’ use of the footage of the Baskins and Big Cat Rescue to the single, initial documentary motion picture, the Baskins believed that any sequel – though odious – would not include any of their footage.’

According to the papers, the Baskins are demanding that Netflix and Royal Goode Productions remove footage of them from Tiger King 2.

Carole has been critical of the upcoming documentary in recent months, previously slamming the programme by saying she refuses ‘to be played again’ by the docu-series.

Last year, Tiger King launched on the streaming platform, following the wild world of cat breeding and the feud between zookeeper Exotic and big cat conservationist Carole, owner of Big Cat Rescue.

Carole has spoken out against the programme on several occasions in the past.

Season one of Tiger King ended with Joe Exotic’s arrest and imprisonment for trying to hire someone to kill animal rights activist and his longtime rival Carole.

Following the news that a second season is on the way by the end of the year, Carole said in a statement sent to Metro.co.uk that she doesn’t understand how it is being made, considering Joe, a convicted felon, is in prison.

‘I don’t know how they put out a Tiger King 2 when Joe’s in jail and I’m refusing to be played again,’ she said.

‘Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Netflix for comment.

Tiger King 2 arrives on November 17 on Netflix.
