WWE official Adam Pearce revealed Brock Lesnar has been fined $1 million after his actions on SmackDown last week.

The Beast Incarnate went on an absolute rampage and attacked The Bloodline, ring crew and several members of the blue brand roster as he was totally incensed by the circumstances surrounding his loss to Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel.

Although there were already consequences as Lesnar got indefinitely suspended for his actions (all in terms of the storyline, obviously), there was more to come on Friday night.

Adam Pearce – who got laid out by Brock after revealing the initial punishment – appeared on the show and revealed the former world champion has now been fined $1,000,000.

Following last week’s broadcast, WWE posted the following update: ‘Due to Lesnar’s rampage, WWE Official Adam Pearce had no choice but to indefinitely suspend Brock Lesnar.

‘Unfortunately for Pearce, Lesnar did not take his suspension lightly returning to the ring to deliver two monstrous F-5s to Pearce leaving him writhing in pain as The Conqueror stormed off.’

This has been a smart way for the company to write the former world champion off TV again for a little while and keep things simmering, as he is booked very much as a special attraction, who comes and goes throughout the year.

As shown by his current run after his surprise return at SummerSlam, it’s the best way to present Lesnar as he always feels like a standout star, with fans sure something huge massive is happening when his music hits.

It’s also a good way to let Reigns move onto other things – including his issues with Paul Heyman and where his allegiances lie – with Survivor Series and a match with Big E surely on the horizon, as well as a new challenger.

Then, when the time is right, WWE can pull the trigger on a Lesnar return and potentially even build to that match in the New Year heading towards WrestleMania 38 in Dallas.

After their main event bout at Crown Jewel this week, fans surely be excited for a rematch, given the way this long-running feud – which has spanned years of programming – has been turned on its head since Roman’s villainous turn.

Lesnar has been fired up as the fan favourite, and that’s sure to continue when he makes his return from this storyline suspension.

*WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
