Kumail Nanjiani seems unconcerned with his latest film, Marvel’s Eternals, receiving negative reviews from critics who decried the film’s inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters.

Marvel’s most recent film, Eternals, has been blasted on IMDb for showing LGBTQ+ characters in the film before it was released to the general public. Kumail Nanjiani, a Pakistani-American actor, is said to be unconcerned, according to The Direct.

Nanjiani, who is most known for his role as Dinesh and also features as one of the Eternals in the film, took to Twitter on Thursday to retweet news from MCU The Direct. “Looks like we’re upsetting the right people,” he said.

Because the characters’ gender, color, and sexuality were modified in the film adaptation of The Eternals, it generated controversy among comic book enthusiasts and critics.

Furthermore, Kumail Nanjiani’s character was originally depicted as a Japanese warrior in comic novels but was eventually changed into a Bollywood movie star.

Even though he has the most contentious modification, Marvel President Kevin Feige acknowledged in 2019 that Henry’s character Phastos is gay. It makes him the first LGBTQ character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to have a marriage and child.
