Security forces gunned down six terrorists including a commander of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in an intelligence based operation (IBO), said the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Sunday morning.

The military’s media wing shared that the security forces had launched the operation in the near Jamboro area of  Harnai in Balochistan after receiving “confirmed” reports of a “terrorist hideout”.

“Security forces conducted IBO in the area to apprehend a group of externally sponsored terrorists working against peace in Balochistan,” read the ISPR statement. As soon as the security forces cordoned off the area, the terrorists “tried to flee” and “opened indiscriminate fire”,  it added.

The ISPR shared a heavy exchange of fire with the terrorists continued for a long time that killed six of them, including BLA commander Tariq Alias Nasir. A large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the hideout.

“Such IBOs to eliminate perpetrators of terrorist acts in Pakistan will continue and they will not be allowed to sabotage hard earned opportunity for prosperity and socioeconomic growth of people of Balochistan,” vowed the ISPR.
