Adele announced the release date for her return single today and with a new album also underway, some are speculating that a TV special might also be on the cards.

The singer’s fourth album, believed to be titled 30, in theme with her previous age-themed records, 19, 21 and 25, is expected to drop any moment now.

With the announcement that the first single, Easy On Me, will be released on October 15, fans are struggling to keep in the excitement.

But one thing that might drive fans absolutely crazy is the possibility of a TV special to promote the record.

‘Adele’s camp has approached multiple networks and platforms about the idea of staging a TV special tied to the new release,’ claims Vulture.

For her 2015 album 25, the star produced two pre-taped concerts that were televised by the BBC in the UK and NBC in the US.

So it could be possible that she’s want to do something similar this time around or even something more ambitious.

The options are definitely wide open for her to partner up with whichever network she prefers, or even strike a deal with a streaming service.

In recent years, all the major players in the online entertainment sphere have dipped their toes in the musical special.

Netflix had Ben Platt Live From Radio City Music Hall, multiple specials with Dolly Parton, and the Taylor Swift documentary Miss Americana.

But it’s Disney Plus that has dominated the game with the exclusive concerts managing to snatch Billie Eilish for Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles special as well as Taylor Swift’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.

Disney is also a prime candidate since they would be able to transmit the special on their US network channel ABC as well as put it on Hulu.

Meanwhile, NBC not only produced Adele’s previous special, but Lorne Michaels, who previously worked with Adele, also works on Saturday Night Live, which would be a massive promotional opportunity for the singer.

Where and when we will be able to see this special is still to be seen.

While no deal is in place and no official announcements have been made, talks are reportedly still in the exploratory phase.
