Rachel Stevens has confirmed she is taking part in the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice during Tuesday morning’s episode of This Morning.
The S Club 7 member was the seventh star confirmed to be on the show.
She told Holly Willoughby: ‘Now it feels really real so I’m like, oh my God.
‘I feel so excited, obviously really nervous, it’s one of those things until you do it you don’t know what’s going to happen.’
Asked if she had any experience skating before, she spoke of using ‘penguins’ when taking her kids skating.
But she added: ‘When I was 10 I dabbled in it a little bit and I loved it but I’m very wobbly.’
Holly went on to ask her why she wanted to join up for the skating show this year.
She said: ‘The opportunity came up and I just thought, what an amazing thing to learn a new skill.
‘I love the whole idea of working with a team and your partner and also for my girls to be a part of this.
‘They are at an age now where they love all the costumes!’
There are seven stars who have been confirmed to take part so far when the show returns in early 2022.
On Tuesday morning Paralympic medalist Stef Reid MBE announced she would be competing live on Good Morning Britain.
Elsewhere, Liberty Poole, Regan Gascoigne and Ben Foden have been signed up by the broadcaster, announced just hours before Rachel.
They will also be joining Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor MBE and Bez from the Happy Mondays.
Dancing on Ice returns in the new year, with five more contestants yet to be confirmed for the show – but who will be taking on the challenge in 2022?
