Billie Eilish has been announced as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2022 and music fans are looking forward to the spectacle.

The iconic festival will finally make a proper return to Worthy Farm after two years of delays due to the pandemic, and the Bad Guy hitmaker is sure to draw a huge crowd at the Pyramid Stage next year.

There’s plenty of time before the huge weekend kicking off the summer, but you can already feel the buzz as punters look forward to some normality after a difficult period – particularly for those in the music industry.

It’s sure to be a celebration of live music, and having one of the biggest stars in the world already confirmed doesn’t hurt!

There’s still some time to go, but here’s everything you need to know from headliners and dates to all-important ticket information.

When is Glastonbury 2022?

The festival will be back at its legendary Worthy Farm site with campers arriving on 22 June and leaving on Monday 27 June, with music mainly taking place on the 24th, 25th and 26th.

The Friday, Saturday and Sunday night will each have a huge headline act, while the Sunday carries the traditional legends slot.

How to get tickets for Glastonbury 2022

OK, so some bad news – the tickets for Glastonbury 2022 have already sold out, given that fans have been able to roll over their passes twice since the 50th anniversary edition was cancelled in 2020.

Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis previously said: ‘As with last year, we would like to offer all those who secured a ticket in October 2019 the opportunity to roll their £50 deposit over to next year, and guarantee the chance to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2022.

‘We are very appreciative of the faith and trust placed in us by those of you with deposits, and we are very confident we can deliver something really special for us all in 2022.’

Of course, some might not take up the offer to secure their 2022 tickets, which means there’s still the chance of some coming up for resale nearer the time.

Who is headlining Glastonbury 2022?

Well, we all know Billie Eilish has been confirmed as the first headliner – but the others are yet to be announced.

Kendrick Lamar, Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift were all set to headline in 2020 before the festival got cancelled, and there was no time for a 2021 line-up to even get confirmed publicly before that was postponed.

There’s a chance any of the three could still perform, while Diana Ross’ 2020 legends slot was also axed – and she’d be a welcome addition for fans coming in June.

Instead of the usual festival, 2021’s Virtual Glastonbury featured live streamed performances from Damon Albarn, Coldplay, Haim, Wolf Alice and more, but it’s not clear if they’ll be on the bill for the proper return.

There are plenty of rumours too, with Sir Elton John’s farewell tour having a suspicious gap in the schedule, while Noel Gallagher has revealed he’ll play if he gets asked.
