Emily Ratajkowski has claimed that Robin Thicke groped her on the set of the music video for Blurred Lines.

The model starred in the music video for the 2013 hit alongside the singer, and has recalled the alleged incident in her new book.

She wrote (according to the New York Post): ‘Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke.

‘He smiled a goofy grin and stumbled backward, his eyes concealed behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set. [The director, Diane Martel’s] voice cracked as she yelled out to me, ‘Are you okay?,’” she wrote.

Ratajkowski went on to write that she enjoyed the shoot at the beginning, but claimed Thicke behaved differently later on and appeared to be drunk.

Martel confirmed the report to the Sunday Times.

She said Thicke ‘sheepishly’ apologised and added: ‘I don’t think he would have done this had he been sober.’

Thicke released Blurred Lines along with Pharrell Williams and T.I. It topped the charts in 25 countries.

However, Thicke faced backlash after the release of the song, as fans took a closer look at the lyrics and accused it of being misogynistic while promoting inappropriate behaviour towards women.

Earlier this year, he told Metro.co.uk of the backlash: ‘[Pharrell] and I learned a lot from that experience and matured, we enjoyed the success, we were happy that after him and I knowing each other and working together for so many years got to enjoy that level of success and perform that song all over the world.

‘But then you take a step back and realise that there are other ways to entertain people, there are other phrases to use and a little bit of sensitivity and open-mindness.

‘When you’re an entertainer, I just like thinking of it as there are other ways to entertain people.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Robin Thicke and Emily Ratajkowski for comment.
