Frankie Bridge opened up about a distressing ordeal she faced with the police during today’s Loose Women, following the murder of Sarah Everard.

Sarah’s killer Wayne Couzens, who was a serving PC with the Metropolitan Police when he kidnapped Everard, was told on Thursday that he will die behind bars after being sentenced at the Old Bailey.

The heartbreaking case was discussed in Friday’s episode of Loose Women between panelists Kaye Adams, Frankie, Katie Piper and Jane Moore.

The Saturdays singer recalled a scary encounter she had with the police while driving through London.

She said: ‘I’ve been in a situation where I got pulled over and it was two officers, and I wasn’t aware that I had done anything wrong. I was driving through London, I went over to a new lane, they followed me.’

‘So I thought, I’ll turn down this road,” and ended up in this tiny little dark alley on my own.’

She added: ‘These two police officers got out and said I was driving erratically, and then they said it was because my number plate was too dirty, and they were like, I want you to clean it now.’

‘I was a lot younger, it was dark at night and then they left.’

Frankie later admitted that the incident left her ‘terrified’.

She said: ‘When you’re in that situation you don’t question things, you don’t think let me call your manager.’

The Metropolitan Police is being investigated for its failure to investigate previous allegations of Couzens flashing and also reportedly being nicknamed ‘The Rapist’ by colleagues.

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: ‘We are sickened, angered and devastated by this man’s crimes which betray everything we stand for.’

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30 on ITV.
