Former Towie star Gemma Collins has been open about her difficulty conceiving naturally as she remains determined to become a mum.

The Essex diva, 40, has won the hearts of the nation in recent years and recently confirmed she had quit the ITV show which had made her famous – for good.

But as she continues to seek new endeavours, it’s now been reported she’s set to appear on BBC as she continues her quest to motherhood, with other broadcasters said to be interested in her story.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Gemma was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can make it a lot more difficult to conceive naturally.

‘She wanted her fans to see her journey in case what she discovered would help someone watching.

‘All the major channels have been in touch. The BBC is the frontrunner at the moment and they are eager to get Gemma on board.’

Gemma has previously spoken candidly about the three miscarriages she has suffered in the past, including one during lockdown last year.

Speaking on her BBC Sounds podcast, she said of another previous miscarriage: ‘I’ve had some shocking things happen to me, I’m not sure I’ve spoken about this before.

‘But I actually gave birth to a child, sadly, and basically the child was four months old, basically I miscarried but obviously the baby was formed, and it died in front of me.’

But the much-loved star is not ready to give up her dream on being a mum.

It’s not yet known who will end up picking up the programme, but Gemma has previously spoken out on her wish to have a baby in 2022 with boyfriend Rami Hawash.

‘I’m going to have a baby next year. Rami and I are going to try – we’re really excited about that.

‘It’s not so easy for me to get pregnant because of PCOS, so we’re going to make a show about that called Gemma Collins: Making The Baby.

‘I’m ready for a baby now and I can’t wait to be a mum,’ she added to The Daily Star.

Metro.co.uk reached out to Gemma’s reps who declined to comment.
