Delays singer Greg Gilbert has died at the age of 44, his brother and bandmate has confirmed.
The musician died after a five-year battle with bowel cancer.
His brother Aaron wrote: ‘I have no idea how to do this right now but this afternoon at 2:22; we walked my brother back home to somewhere out there in the ether.
‘Greg died surrounded in the endless love that us and all of you have given him on this journey, and we will never be able to express how much it meant to him (and all of us) to have you by our side lifting us up like a winged army.
‘Your messages, your encouragement and your compassion have been our oxygen for the last five years.
‘He was my brother and my best friend, and we did everything together.
‘It was the greatest honour to be with him as he took one last gentle breath before leaving us. I could have sworn we were limitless…’
Aaron added: ‘Thank you for sharing our grief, and for making it easier to carry at times while you were firefighting battles of your own…
‘And thank you for making Greg such a special person in your lives. I’m so glad we all existed at the same time. We’re only temporary, let’s make our temporary extraordinary.’

Indie band Delays was formed in 2001 under the name Idoru by Colin Fox, Rowly, and brothers Greg and Aaron Gilbert.
They released their first EP the same year, before changing their name in 2003 and releasing their debut single.
Over the years, they have supported bands like Franz Ferdinand and the Manic Street Preachers and have also toured worldwide.
Gilbert was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and had been updating fans about his journey.
Earlier this year, he was taken off cancer treatment.
He wrote at the time: ‘This isn’t a post I ever thought I’d have to write but it suddenly seems necessary. I have, unfortunately, been taken off of treatment and am now being treated solely for pain relief.
‘The pains are mostly under control and the nurses here are nothing less than angels.’
