Married At First Sight Australia season 6 aired on E4 during the peak of another lockdown and it’s been reported it will be back in just a few days time.

Viewers were hooked on the drama of the latest series of the Australian spin-off and its popularity soared in the UK earlier this year.

Season six saw just two couples manage to come out the other side after some major hitches and rows aired on-screen.

But according to TellyMix, it seems the broadcaster is now skipping two seasons in the future, with season seven set to be missed out from the billing completely.

Season eight is set to air next Monday October 4 at 7:30pm on E4, meaning it will be repeated an hour later on E4+1 at 8:30pm.

The show will also have all episodes available to stream after airing on All 4, the broadcaster’s catch-up service.

It’s not yet known why the channel has decided to skip out a whole season but it has been suggested it’s due to the season having been poorly received in Aus.

The opening episode sees 18 new singles who are ready to mingle come together for a Stag and Hen night, before embarking on their commitment ceremonies.

Fans know the offering from down under has a heavy influence on the subsequent recent UK series, which went through some major changes to mirror its Australian counterpart.

Season eight aired in the country and concluded in April with a two-part finale.

It featured some of the show’s most memorable pairings including Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson

Season six was filmed back in 2018 but only came out to UK viewers earlier this year and had plenty of controversial moments.

This included the request from Jessika Power and Dan Webb to leave their respective couples and continue on the show together.

They were granted this but it caused a huge amount of backlash in Australia when it aired, with a petition even being started as a result.

Earlier this year, Channel 4 promised the series would be back before the summer was out, telling fans: ‘Buckle up as we’re heading back down under soon.

‘Married at First Sight Australia series seven is set to land on E4 this summer.’

Season eight promises plenty of dramatic twists and turns for viewers – but will any of the newlyweds manage to stay together for the long haul?
