Chrissy Teigen has paid tribute to her late son Jack, a year after she suffered a devastating miscarriage.

The Lip Sync Battle host and her husband John Legend lost their third child in late September 2020, months after conceiving him naturally following IVF treatment to have their kids Luna, five, and Miles, three.

Chrissy, 35, said Jack ‘came and went to get me to love myself’, as she remembered him on National Son’s Day on Tuesday.

The star first shared a post dedicated to Miles, after posting a National Daughter’s Day tribute to Luna days earlier.

Alongside a series of pictures of Miles, Chrissy wrote: ‘Crap if he grows up and sees I posted for daughter’s day and not son’s, will he be mad? are these going to be the grievances our kids have?? anyhow I love you so much, son!!’

The model then posted a picture of John comforting her as she lay in her hospital bed crying a year ago.

Chrissy wrote: ‘And to the son we almost had. a year ago you gave me the greatest pain I could ever imagine to show me I could survive anything, even if I didn’t want to.

‘I didn’t get to take care of you but you came and went to get me to love myself and take care of myself because our bodies are precious and life is a miracle. they told me it would get easier but yeah, that hasn’t started yet. mom and dad love you forever.’

Famous friends including Kenan Thompson and Elsa Hosk left heart emojis on the post, while Twilight actress Ashley Greene wrote: ‘Your vulnerability and strength is admirable.’

However, it appeared Chrissy was also receiving trolling comments, as she wrote on her stories: ‘I didn’t sleep at all last night, as John can attest. I was up sick, sobbing, as my phone popped up the memory of being in the hospital exactly 1 year ago, losing our baby. So maybe I’m a little sensitive today but f*** off.

‘Why people follow people they hate [is] beyond me.’

On October 1 2020, Chrissy confirmed the news that she had suffered a pregnancy loss, less than two months after she announced via John’s music video for Wild that she was expecting.

Alongside heartbreaking pictures from the hospital, she wrote on Instagram: ‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.

‘We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.  But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.  So he will always be Jack to us.  Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

‘To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive.  We will always love you.’

Chrissy has since got a tattoo of Jack’s name on her wrist.

Chrissy, who has been married to John, 42, for eight years, this week marked 70 days sober, after becoming tired of ‘making an a** of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like s*** by 6, not being able to sleep’.
