Gino D’Acampo returned to This Morning after a long time away today – and wasted no time before causing utter chaos.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby gave him a warm welcome during his introduction, only for Gino to jokingly kick off and ask what he was doing there so early in the morning.

While the pair were attempting to introduce the first item of the show, Gino interrupted them and asked what time he would be appearing.

After being told he wouldn’t be cooking until towards the end of the programme, he said: ‘What am I going to do for two hours?’

Gino was returning after 277 days off the show to cook a tiramisu from a recipe that’s been in his family for generations.

However, he wasn’t too happy about having to wait around without anything to do in the meantime, and even offered to clean the studio’s windows.

‘What time am I cooking?’ he asked, before saying: ‘Then what am I doing at 10 o’clock in the morning?’

‘So I’m going to be there for two hours watching the show live? Make me do something else,’ the chef added.

Never change, Gino.

Gino has been busy filming the travel cooking show Gordon, Gino and Fred Go Greek – and got than he bargained for as co-star Fred Sirieix danced around a barbeque nake in a recently revealed clip.

The Italian chef, of course, has been a regular fixture on This Morning ever since 2010, but he’s been appearing less frequently over recent times as he takes on other TV projects.

The 45-year-old had viewers cracking up with Monday’s episode of Gordon, Gino and Fred Go Greek, when it was revealed the Italian chef expected to be visiting pyramids when he travelled to Athens in the next episode.

Along with Gordon Ramsay and Fred, Gino had enjoyed an odyssey around the Greek islands on a catamaran, visiting places including Crete, Santorini and Mykonos as the boys experienced everything from pastry and sausage making to bathing in volcanic mud.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
