Pre-orders for the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22 includes some FIFA Points you can use to start buying players.

While FIFA 22 technically doesn’t release for another few days, there is a free (albeit limited) trial version of the game you can start playing through EA Play or by pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition.

Ultimate Edition pre-orders come with a bevy of other content as well, including 4,600 FIFA points. Despite the trial becoming available last week, you may be wondering why you haven’t received your FIFA Points yet.

Fortunately, there’s a very simple answer and you should be able to start spending them now, with the launch of the four-day early access.

FIFA 22 – what are FIFA Points?

Just in case this is your first FIFA game, here’s a quick primer about FIFA Points. Basically, they’re one of the in-game currencies and are used to buy card packs in the Ultimate Team mode, where you build and manage your own club with any of the players you acquire.

FIFA Points cannot be obtained in-game and the only other way to get them is to buy them with real money.

I pre-ordered FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition, so where are my FIFA Points?

If you’ve been wondering why your FIFA Points never turned up, it’s because they simply hadn’t been sent out yet. With the exception of the untradeable FUT 22 Ones To Watch player item, all of the Ultimate Edition’s pre-order bonuses become available today so you should have the points by now.

You can easily check just by loading up the game. You don’t have to do anything extra; they should automatically be added.

In case you’re wondering, that FUT item won’t be available until FIFA 22 officially releases on October 1.

Can I transfer FIFA Points from FIFA 21 to FIFA 22?

If you have leftover FIFA Points in FIFA 21, you thankfully can transfer them to FIFA 22 and spend them there. To do this, you only need to log in to FIFA 22 so there’s no need to boot up FIFA 21.

It’s really simple too since, upon starting FIFA 22, a pop-up should appear asking if you want to transfer the points. However, there are a couple of things you should be aware of.

Firstly, you can’t transfer the points back, although this isn’t really an issue since you’re unlikely to revisit FIFA 21. Or at the very least, you’re probably not going to be spending money on it.

Secondly, you can only transfer points on the same platform. So, for example, if you bought FIFA 21 on an Xbox console, you’ll need to have done the same for FIFA 22. You can’t transfer points from an Xbox version of the game to a PlayStation or PC version. The same applies across all platforms.

Can I get FIFA Points by pre-ordering FIFA 22 Standard Edition?

No, Standard Edition pre-orders don’t come with any FIFA Points. It does come with some bonuses, though, specifically a Kylian Mbappe Loan item, a Team of the Week 1 Player item, a Career Mode Homegrown Talent, and a FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick.

Can I get FIFA Points by buying FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition after October 1?

No, the FIFA Points and everything else that comes bundled with the Ultimate Edition are only available if you pre-order FIFA 22 before the release date.

FIFA 22 releases on October 1 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Stadia.
