Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed she is ‘not ready’ to discuss the death of her Sex And The City co-star, Willie Garson.

It was confirmed yesterday that the 57-year-old, who was most known for playing talent agent Stanford Blatch on the series, had died.

Following the news, a string of his former castmates have paid tribute, including Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

Sarah, who starred as Carrie Bradshaw, spoke of his death for the first time in an Instagram comment underneath a post shared by Chris Noth, in which he uploaded a photo of the pair laughing on set together.

‘Thank you dearest Chris. I’m not ready yet. Xxx,’ she replied.

Garson’s death was confirmed by son Nathen, in a devastating tribute on Instagram.

‘I love you so much papa,’ he wrote. ‘Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you.

‘I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own. You’ll always be with me. Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now.

‘You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known. I’m glad you shared you’re love with me. I’ll never forget it or lose it.’

Garson famously portrayed the close gay best friend and confidante of Carrie, and reprised his role in the two Sex And The City films.

He had also been filming the upcoming HBO Max spin-off series And Just Like That.

His former co-stars were among those sharing their condolences on social media, with Cynthia – who plays Miranda Hobbes – posting: ‘So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson.

‘We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore. He was a consummate professional— always.’

Samantha Jones actress Kim Cattrall said: ‘Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family. Our condolences and RIP dear Willie xo.’

Charlotte York star Kristin Davis added: ‘We are bereft without him. But I really want to pay tribute to his fearless commitment to single fatherhood. We spoke about being single parents through adoption often.

‘And nothing gave him more joy and pride than his son Nathen. Nathen’s strength and wisdom beyond his years are evident in his beautiful tribute to his dad. The outpouring of love is earned dear Willie.

‘I am thankful for all of the time we had and grateful that so much of your bright light is on film forever. Maybe we can do our podcast the next time around? We love you forever xoxo.’

As well as Sex And The City, which originally ran from 1998-2004, Garson was known for his role as Mozzie in police drama White Collar.
