Daniel Craig has had his say on who should take over as James Bond, after No Time To Die is released.

The upcoming 007 flick, which is released on September 30, will be the star’s last outing as the superspy, with his replacement yet to be named.

A string of stars have been linked to the role, including Idris Elba, Regé-Jean Page and Tom Hiddleston – with Piers Morgan also putting his name forward.

However, speaking in a new interview about the next film, the 53-year-old vowed that the next Bond should not be a woman.

‘The answer to that is very simple,’ he told Radio Times when asked about a potential diverse casting.

‘There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour.

‘Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?’

The upcoming No Time To Die will be Daniel’s last portrayal of Bond, with the actor first taking on the role in 2006, with his debut in Casino Royale.

He also showed off his spy skills in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre, with his last outing finally being released later this month after more than a year of delays.

And the Knives Out actor shared an emotional moment with the cast and crew as he said his goodbyes after shooing his final scene.

In a glimpse from the Being James Bond documentary on Apple TV, he addressed everyone on set soon after the cameras stopped rolling.

‘A lot of people here worked on five pictures with me,’ he said. ‘And I know there’s a lot of things said about what I think about these films or all of those… Whatever.

‘But I’ve loved every single second of these movies, and especially this one, because I’ve got up every morning and I’ve had the chance to work with you guys.’

Getting choked up, Daniel added: ‘That has been one of the greatest honours of my life.’

Anyone else need a tissue?

No Time To Die is set to be released in cinemas on September 30.
